Shearing Is Caring… and Apparently So Is Pony Camp! 🐴💗

This weekend, I swapped my usual Thermomix adventures for something a little different, a weekend spent at Pony Camp with Luisa and her wonderful horse-loving crew.

To be honest, everyone was so busy and organised that my main role for much of the weekend was standing nearby, watching the action unfold, and trying very hard not to get accidentally flattened by a passing horse!
I've known Luisa for over 13 years now (lucky number 13, perhaps?), and in all that time she has never stopped amazing me. She is a whirlwind of energy, creativity, and ideas. Watching her organise, inspire, and somehow keep everything running smoothly is always impressive.
But what I admire most about her is her heart. She is one of the kindest, most generous people I know, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with her and meet so many of her lovely horsey friends.
A Little Confession...
I still have a slight fear of horses.
I know they're beautiful, intelligent, gentle creatures, but they're also enormous! Every time one walked past me, my brain said, "What a lovely horse," while my legs whispered, "Perhaps we should run."
I'm working on it, though. Maybe one day I'll be confidently cuddling horses. Or perhaps they'll decide to cuddle me first. Time will tell!
My Mission: Feed the Troops

My official responsibility for the weekend was simple: lunch and dinner.
But somehow it felt like much more than that. There's something special about feeding hungry people after a long day outdoors. The atmosphere, the laughter, and the energy around the camp made every meal feel like part of the experience.
And naturally, my trusty Thermomix came along too. Wherever I go, it goes!
On the Menu
Butternut Macaroni Cheese

Always a crowd-pleaser. Comforting, filling, easy to prepare in advance, and loved by both children and adults alike. I skipped the bacon this time, and nobody seemed to mind!
Tomato Pasta

Some love stories never fade, and children's love for tomato pasta is definitely one of them.
Pesto Pasta

Quick, delicious, and always guaranteed to disappear fast.
Turning Leftovers into Something Special
The following day, I looked at the leftovers and thought, "Challenge accepted."
Twenty minutes later, we were enjoying:
Tomato and Pepper Soup
Fresh, creamy, packed with flavour, and created from ingredients that might otherwise have gone to waste. No additives, no unnecessary extras — just simple, wholesome food.
And then came the star of the weekend...
Apple Crumble Cake
Without question, my favourite dessert.
Made with proper apples, this cake becomes royalty. Simple, comforting, elegant, and completely irresistible. The undisputed Queen of Desserts.
Pink Decorations and Full Batteries
As much as I love cooking, I also love creating beautiful spaces for people to enjoy.
This time, everything was decorated in cheerful shades of pink, adding a little extra fun and happiness to the weekend. (Photos coming soon!)
On the journey home, I realised something.
This weekend wasn't really about horses.
It wasn't even about the food.
It was about people.
Meeting new faces. Sharing meals. Laughing together. Watching passionate people do what they love. Surrounding myself with positive energy and allowing myself to recharge.
I came home with a full heart, a full battery, and plenty of motivation for another busy Thermomix week.
And once again, Thermomix proved just how versatile it is.
Kitchen? Absolutely.
Pony Camp? Of course.
Feeding a crowd? No problem.
Creating something delicious from leftovers? Every single time.
You really can use Thermomix every day and almost everywhere.
It's an absolute powerhouse.
