How COVID Accidentally Changed My Life (And My Kitchen!)

Do you remember those strange COVID days?

Shops were empty.

Restaurants were closed.

Takeaways weren't open

Like everyone, my life suddenly paused. The business I spent 18 years building was put on hold overnight. Employees were on hold. Life was on hold. It felt like someone pressed pause.

And then… something unexpected happened.

My Kitchen became my escape. Sitting at home with more time than I’d had in years. I started cooking more and more with my Thermomix. What started with being an escape quickly became a routine that I did not mind. It reignited my passion for cooking! 

My routine became:

Fresh bread every morning

Homemade soups

Curry for dinner

Exploring Japanese cuisine

Ice cream, cakes, sauces… you name it!

My kitchen overnight became the busiest restaurant in the world, and possibly the tastiest. And the best part I didn't (and couldn’t) have to leave the house.

And honestly? This saved me.

Cooking gave me room for creativity, routine and small moments of joy when the world felt unexpected, my escape, my safe place.

One day a thought popped into my mind. I started posting my cooking, talking about what Thermomix can do, sharing my recipes and dishes I loved making. Slowly but surely, people began to notice. My instagram started growing and something unexpected happened…

What if this could become my new professional journey?

And suddenly, my work looked completely different.

Instead of the old boring routine, my days now included

Cooking amazing food

Meeting fantastic people 

Sharing my real passion

All things I loved, and I was earning money from it! Honestly the best combination you could ask for! I don't say I'm going to work, because I don't see my passion as work, im going to share my passion with amazing people and hope I can show them how Thermomix can change their life and showcase how good it feels to become a great home masterchef.

Now, Nine years later, the excitement hasn’t died one bit. Why? There's hundreds of thousands of recipes I can access all from my own kitchen. You know that feeling when you see amazing food online and think wow that looks tasty but i dont know how to make it. Well i dont feel that way because with a thermomix I can make it at home! Literally anything!
